Game Night, SOL Testing Dates, and More!
Una traducción al español está abajo.
1. We hosted a family game night in January, and it was so well received we thought we would have another – this Friday, March 15, from 4:05 – 6:00 p.m.
* The event is free.
* Parents and siblings are also invited (non-Burley siblings must be accompanied by an adult).
* Our AVID program will sell refreshments – including pizza at $2 per slice.
2. Did you hear about the hawk that was injured when it crashed into one of our cafeteria windows? Mr. Barber was able to get it to the Wildlife Center of Virginia where they nursed it back to health. Mr. Barber then retrieved the hawk, and he released it back into the wild during our homeroom period last Thursday. NBC 29 covered the story, HERE.
To thank the Wildlife Center for their help, we are going to collect donations next week during lunch. Donations can be coins, cash or checks (made to Burley Middle School) – and then we will donate one check at the end of the week.

* El evento es gratuito.
* Los padres y hermanos también están invitados (los hermanos que no sean de Burley deben estar acompañados por un adulto).
* Nuestro programa AVID venderá refrigerios, incluida la pizza a $ 2 por porción.
