Various Announcements
Morning Drop Off/Afternoon Pick-Up:
If you drop off your student in the morning, please do so in the front of the building (unless part of a rehearsal group which enters through the back). Do not drop students off in the parent pick-up area in the lower parking lot and do not use the small lot by the bus loop.
However, if you pick your student after school (starting at 3:45 p.m.), that is when you use the lower parking lot in the back. Also, do not use the small parking lot by the bus loop in the afternoon.
Student Absences:
If/when your student is absent – regardless of the reason (illness, bereavement, family business, etc.) – please be sure to call our front office at 295-5101 to alert us.
A Few Schedule Changes:
We will have a few schedule changes coming. To balance course, it looks like we are going to add one sixth grade social studies and science class, and we could have a few moves in Algebra. I will speak with our counseling department tomorrow to see if we can accomplish any changes by this Friday or by next Tuesday.
College Planning Night:
Information for 8th graders from Irvin w. Johnson, the Director of School Counseling at Monticello High School:
On behalf of the Monticello High School Counseling Department, we would like to take this opportunity to cordially invite your students to attend our 2019 College Planning Night. This year’s College Planning Night will be held here at Monticello High School on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The College Planning Night is an excellent opportunity for students of all grade levels to speak with admissions representatives from colleges, and universities from Maryland, North Carolina, Washington DC, and Virginia just to name a few. Regardless of where students may be in the planning process, having access to so many colleges in one location at one time is invaluable. Please encourage your students and families to attend! We look forward to seeing everyone on September 4th.
